Encouraging news for Wycombe Wanderers on Winding up petition

HM Revenue and Customs initiated a winding up procedure against Wycombe Wanderers FC on 11 February 2013.

At the hearing in the High Court on the 25 March 2013, the matter was adjourned by the court until 13 May 2013 where there will be another hearing. This was welcomed by fans as a positive development and a step in the right direction for the football club.

The advantage of an adjournment is twofold for the football club, firstly it will allow the club’s Supporters Trust to continue to make payments through their donation scheme, whilst at the same time give the club time to seek additional investment.

The club’s joint chairman Don Woodward issued a somewhat cautious statement after the hearing, but remained positive that the club will solve their finances, “We have been and will continue to work with the HMRC to resolve the situation. We are grateful for their patience and understanding as the club work through their financial issues.”
