HUFC’s Winding-up Petition Adjourned for the eighth time

Hereford United FC were first on the Companies Court Winding Up List this morning, however the club saw the petition issued by HMRC adjourned until later on today after a proposal was put forward to pay off the creditors.

The club reportedly told the Registrar that it had secured a £750,000 investment from Newell Properties Developments Ltd.

When the court reconvened, Mr Lonsdale told the court that he will invest £1m of his own money in the club because the proposed £750,000 investment fell through. The judge granted the club until 15 December 2014 to pay off its debts.

It was reported that Mr Lonsdale had this to say after the hearing,

“Mr Carroll had withdrawn his offer after being scared off by comments made on social media. I decided to do the right thing… and show I’ve got the funds to do it.”
