Progress for Wycombe as winding up petition is dismissed in the High Court

On 11 February 2013, HM Revenue and Customs (“HMRC”) initiated a winding up petition against Wycombe Wanderers Football Club.

The matter was heard on 25 March 2013 and was subsequently adjourned by the court until 13 May 2013. The adjournment gave Wycombe Wanderers FC enough time to pay off its outstanding tax bill ahead of the next court hearing on 13 May 2013. At the hearing on 13 May the petition was dismissed.

A substantial proportion of the debt was paid off from the £350,000 received from the sale of the club’s training ground to a consortium of fans.

In a statement after the hearing the club’s joint chairman Don Woodward stated that “The High Court hearing was a formality and we would like to thank HMRC for their cooperation”.
