Third winding-up petition for Llanelli

On 28 January 2013 Welsh football club Llanelli AFC will face a third winding-up petition from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs later this month due to over overdue taxes.

The club’s precarious financial position has led to it struggling to pay rent on its Stebonheath Park ground as well as player’s and staff’s pay. Midfielder Antonio Corbisisero has revealed that some players are struggling to honour their own financial commitments and players Corey Jenkins and Chris Thomas have already left the club with manager Bob Jeffrey expecting further departures to relieve the financial burden on the club.

The news comes after former chairman Nitin Parekh settled previous petitions in August and November 2012.
