## Swindon Town's Response to Winding-up Petition

[Swindon Town FC released a statement in relation to the winding up petition issued by HMRC](http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/11778667.Town_issue_statement_regarding_winding_up_petition/):

> *"The Club has had a winding up petition presented against it, which has been fully paid. Receipt of monies have been confirmed and we are going through the process of having the petition set aside.*
>
> *We would like to reassure everyone that there is no danger of the Club going into liquidation and this, hopefully, is the last of a series of challenges arising from the ownership battle that the Club has had to tackle."*
The statement followed the news that HMRC had issued a winding up petition against the Swindon over unpaid taxes on Monday 5 January 2015, with a High Court hearing date set for Monday 23 February.
