Gosport Borough FC have reportedly confirmed that the winding up petition issued against the club by HMRC has been settled.

Winding-Up Petition

Gosport Borough FC have reportedly settled an undisclosed tax dispute brought to them by HMRC. The winding-up petition had been adjourned for a week to allow time for the football club to pay. The petition which is the fifth petition the club had received in 12 months.

The winding-up petition was reportedly dismissed by Registrar Nicholas Briggs in the London’s High Court after being told the debt had been paid.

The New Borough chairman, Tony Stares has reportedly said that there was no danger of the club folding and the undisclosed debt to HMRC would be paid.

Gosport Borough FC were relegated from the National League South last season and are preparing for life back in the Southern Premier Division.
