HMRC Winding-up Petitions: Notts County given 7 weeks to pay HMRC

Notts County FC have recently received another winding-up petition due to outstanding tax debts. The club has reportedly been given 7 weeks to pay their debts to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) following a hearing on Monday.

Notts County’s Fifth Court Hearing

Following a hearing in London’s High Court on Monday 19 December 2016, Notts County FC have been given 7 weeks to pay their outstanding tax bills. The outstanding amount is believed to be in the region of £350,000.

At the hearing, the judge was informed that the club had found a buyer and therefore agreed to adjourn the matter until the 6 February 2016.

Notts County FC have reportedly managed to get winding-up petitions dismissed by HMRC in 2010, 2013 and earlier this year by paying their outstanding tax bills.
