Winding-Up Petition

Dulwich Hamlet have been reportedly threatened with a winding-up petition after owing £121,000 to Meadow Residential LLP. Dulwich Hamlet have to pay the outstanding debt by March 23.

The debt had come across when the clubs landlords issued a unexpected rent bill. Meadow LLP own and operate the ground, receiving all of the money coming through the turnstile. They only passing on gate revenue after taking their own substantial costs.

Councillor Peter John for Southwark Council tweeted, before deleting: “I reached out to Meadow and asked them not to act against @DulwichHamletFC – so I’m really disappointed that they’ve served notice locking the club out of their ground.

The landlords rejected a bid close to £10million for the property from affordable housing company Legacy Foundation, which is headed by Rio Ferdinand, late last year. The site is reportedly not on the market.
